What size skips are available?
We have a wide range of skips for hire, from a two-yard mini skip, which can hold up to 40 bags of waste, going up in size every two yards to the large 12-yard skip (otherwise known as maxi skip hire).
The 2, 4, 6 and 8-yard skips are suitable for both heavy inert and mixed waste, while the larger 10-yard and 12-yard skips are usually used for mixed construction and demolition waste.
Normally skips can be delivered the next working day (this includes Monday to Saturday). Whatever your skip hire requirements, you can easily book a skip online and have your skip delivered to your door in no time at all.
What types of waste can go in a skip?
Skips can be used for general waste and are a useful alternative to making a visit to your local tip. The types of waste which can go in a skip are referred to as mixed lightweight (or general) waste – such as that which you might put in a household bin or garden waste and inert heavy waste (such as bricks, plaster, roof tiles and glass).
There are certain types of waste which should never be put in a skip and these include electrical items, such as televisions or fridges, as well as batteries and old tyres. These can be dangerous for the environment and must be disposed of in a specific way.

When will my skip be collected?
Usually you would normally have your skip for a maximum of two weeks (subject to time restrictions, where a Highway Permit is required). This will give you a chance to sort through everything which needs to go into it and make sure it’s all been disposed of correctly.
When you have finished with your skip, please contact our office regarding collection on 01903 762020. Your skip will then usually be collected within 10 working days, although, unfortunately we cannot 100% guarantee this, as it is subject to access and operational issues.
What should I know about skip hire?
A couple of points to remember, when hiring a skip, is to check that you have a suitable area upon which the skip can be placed. This must be sturdy enough ground to support the weight of a fully loaded skip.
Also, when filling your skip, it’s vital that you don’t overload it, because this can make it illegal for transportation on the road when it is collected. Ensure that you order the right size skip for your needs when you book it.
