At Rabbit Group we’re committed to ensuring that every aspect of our business has as low an impact on the environment as possible. But not only that, we want to work to address some of the existing problems created by the way waste materials have been managed in the past. To demonstrate these aims we’re proud to say we’ve been recognised for this work so far by achieving two key industry accolades: the ISO 14001:2004 certificate and Technical Membership of CL:AIRE – Contaminated Land: Applications in Real Environments.
ISO 14001:2004
This certificate shows that we work to a certain standard in all aspects of our business. It demonstrates that we have developed and implemented a policy and set objectives regarding the environmental impact of our work, and follow a framework to deliver an effective environmental management system. In other words, when you use our services you can rest assured that we’re measuring the impact our work has on the environment and are always working to minimise it.
This isn’t just good news for us, it’s good news for our clients and customers. When you work with us you know this standard reflects well on your own business. You are demonstrating a concern for the environment and that you want to make sure the refuse and waste material you create is dealt with properly too.
CL:AIRE
Standing for Contaminated Land: Applications In Real Environments, CL:AIRE was established in 1999 as an independent and not-for-profit organisation that would stimulate the regeneration of contaminated land in the UK.
At the moment there are around 300,000 hectares of land at over 325,000 sites in England and Wales that are classified as contaminated with a variety of pollutants. Rather than ignore this problem, CL:AIRE works on the premise that these areas could be treated or managed in order to make the land useful for commercial and economic purposes.
Being a Technical Member means we are working in a variety of ways to help solve some of the problems associated with contaminated land. This includes developing ideas and sharing information on how to manage problems so that more organisations can work to bring land back to use.
When there’s so much pressure on land for housing, commercial use and other activities, we believe our work in this area is helping to make the country a better place.
Now and the future
With both these accolades you can see that at Rabbit Group we’re not just concerned with best practice right now, but we also want to deal with past problems to ensure our legacy of waste does not compromise our future.
