The Environment Agency identified several examples of best practice and praised our ‘very good score for an SME operating in this highly regulated sector’.

What is an Operator Monitoring Assessment

This type of regulatory audit is carried out on power plants by the Environment Agency and is used to assess operators’ self–monitoring of emissions to air and discharges to water.

What is Enviropower

The term Enviropower refers to green electricity created from waste. After all recyclable material has been recovered, the remaining waste is shredded and burned to generate super-heated steam. This drives the high-pressure turbines, which in turn drive a generator to produce up to 5 megawatts of green electricity.

A high score for Enviropower means that we are succeeding in achieving our goal to maximise recycling and minimise landfill – this is why our latest score is of such high value to us.
