Rabbit Group’s Energy Recovery Facility: A Cornerstone of Our Operations
Rabbit Skip Hire is proud to process waste through Rabbit Group's state-of-the-art Energy Recovery Facility. This advanced system allows us to convert non-recyclable waste into green electricity, effectively reducing landfill use and generating clean energy. Here's how we do it:
- Recycling and Recovery: All waste collected by Rabbit Skips undergoes rigorous sorting at our automated materials recovery facility. We salvage recyclable materials such as soil, bricks, metals and plastics, directing them to appropriate industries for further use.
- Energy Generation: The remaining biomass is transformed into super-heated steam, powering turbines that produce up to 5 megawatts of green electricity - enough to supply approximately 8,000 homes.
- Low Emissions: We ensure that emissions are kept below permitted levels, with 24/7 monitoring to maintain our commitment to environmental compliance. Additionally, the by-product ash is recycled into aggregate, further minimising waste.
